2017 Progress Report: May-Part 2

This was a very strange time for me. Despite always promising myself that I will have my work done well before a show starts, it never seems to work out that way. It was interesting because I was supposed to have the show set on May 8 and instead, I spent the entire day working in the very same room I was supposed to be setting up in. As soon as a piece was done, it went up on the wall or pedestal depending on the piece. Two pieces, the ones titled 'Anathema' and "Black Widow' did not get done in time. While I was disappointed, the show was still complete and work continued after the show.

I mentioned my show on here despite not showing any pictures of it. That show was titled The Winds of Change and I plan on talking about that show at some point in the future. Until then, keep on the lookout for the June and July reports.

5/7/17: Light molding paste has been applied around the name label.

5/7/17: Spray painting work has been done on the front, though the pumice gel is not completely dry.  I have to be very careful with it.

5/7/17: The back has been spray painted, though the area by the name label had to be covered. Like the front, the back is also somewhat soft and has to be handled carefully.

5/7/17: I want to say that this day was the day I did some trimming on the piece and finally glued it into place. The drawing is not anywhere near complete and I don't like doing this without completing the drawing first, but sometimes, it has to be done. Unfortunately, this piece was not done in time for the upcoming show.

5/8/17: Molding paste work had been done. This piece is now sealed on here for good.

5/8/17: Some fiber paste work has been done to seal off the divide between the frame and the picture.

5/9/17: This piece is finally done and is ready for the show.

5/9/17: I took a picture of the front of this because of the difference the polymer gloss made . Before some parts of this had washed out colors. It looks better now.

5/9/17: The back of this is done and this piece is now ready for the show.

5/9/17: This piece is finished and is ready for the show.

5/10/17: The basic painting is finished. The metallic paint will be next.

5/10/17: The painting on the back is finished except for the metallic paint. Unlike the front, the back only uses black because I felt it wasn't as necessary to make the back more detailed.

5/10/17: Everything is in place. This piece is ready for the show.

5/16/17: Despite not getting done in time for the show, the work still continues. The drawing is done. The only thing I don't like is that I feel some of the shading is a bit too soft.
